Outer Banks Bluefin Tuna Fishing
LOW PROFILE, our 55' Custom NC Built Sportfish is now fishing out of Village Marina on Hatteras Island. Both Bluefin and Yellowfin are being caught when the weather allows off of Hatteras, and we felt Hatteras offered our customers the best shot at consistent quality Big Game Fishing for the next 6 months. We expect a consistent Tuna Bite all winter with a mix of Bluefin and Yellowfin. From now until the middle of March, anglers should have great chances at Giant Bluefin.
We decided to wait and see how the Giant Bluefin Bite developed in Morehead before making the move to Hatteras. We had planned to fish Hatteras all along, but had considered a month or so in MHC if the Bluefin Bite turned on. Last week, we made the call, based on the lack of a consistent bite in MHC and promissing reports from Capt. Darrin above in Hatteras. So until the end of June LOW PROIFLE is fishing full time out of Cape Hatteras. This will be Darrin's second season running LOW PROFILE for us. Last year we moved up to Hatteras in March after a winter in Morehead.
For those not familiar with LP, she was built in 2000 by Steve Gwaltney and is powered by twin Cat 3406E 800hp engines. LOW PROFILE is the most modern and largest boat in our fleet, and being a Carolina boat, is obviously at home fishing the outer banks of North Carolina. We feel fortunate to have teamed up with long time Hatteras Captain Darrin Callahn, who will be skippering LP while she works out of Hatteras. Darrin has been fishing Hatteras his whole life and has quite a few tournament wins to his credit.
Our regular full day Hatteras Charter rate is $1500.
For the rest of January, we are offering Tuna trips for $1200.
